HANYC Names ICE Official Education Partner
The Hotel Association of New York City made the announcement at its 2019 Red Carpet Hospitality Gala.
On Dec. 2, the Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC) announced the Institute of 国产福利 Education as its exclusive, official education partner at its annual Red Carpet Hospitality Gala at the Grand Hyatt New York.
As part of the partnership, ICE will offer three scholarships for its Hospitality & Hotel Management program and one scholarship for the 国产福利 Arts program annually.
America鈥檚 oldest hotel association, HANYC (est. 1878) has close to 300 members and 50,000 employees. Its mission to 鈥渟erve as the voice of the hotel industry鈥 aligns with ICE鈥檚 commitment to 鈥渇ind your culinary voice.鈥 The pair will jointly offer continuing education on pertinent issues such as human trafficking, innkeeper liability, security and union management.
"This is a clear win-win for ICE students and our member hotels," said Vijay Dandapani, HANYC president and CEO. "It also represents a best practice in the hospitality business by strengthening ties across sectors to benefit the industry as a whole. We look forward to a long and prosperous partnership with our colleagues at ICE."
Hotel members will have the opportunity to participate in guest lectures and panels, offer hotel tours for Hospitality & Hotel Management classes, and provide access to externship and job placements. HANYC members鈥 employees will have access to enroll in the management program and ICE鈥檚 extracurricular classes, such as wine studies.
"I am excited for this partnership with HANYC, which will bring ICE unparalleled access to NYC hotels across a broad spectrum," said Dean of Restaurant & Hospitality Management Rick Camac. "This venture will enable us to extend our student reach for externships, jobs, guest speakers and hotel visits. In return, we are proud to be giving back to the hotel community in the form of full scholarships."
ICE alumni have launched careers at member hotels like Ace Hotel, Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, Hotel Edison and Marriott International, among others.
